PDO Threads FAQs
PDO Threads are dissolvable sutures made from polydiaxanone, used to lift, tighten, and stimulate collagen in areas of facial laxity and mild-moderate facial folds. They provide immediate support while triggering long-term skin remodeling for a firmer, more youthful appearance.
You’ll see a visible lift right away, with continued improvement over 6–12 weeks as collagen forms. Results typically last 12–18 months, depending on your skin quality, lifestyle, and the type/number of threads used. Proper skin maintenance is also essential for optimal results and durations.
Most clients tolerate the procedure well. A combination of topical numbing, injectable anesthetic, and gentle technique keeps discomfort minimal, though you may feel pressure, tugging, or mild soreness during and shortly after the treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise, dental work, excessive facial movements, and sleeping on your side or stomach for 2-4 weeks. Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated area, and follow all post-care instructions to protect the integrity of the threads as they settle.
PDO Threads are ideal for clients with mild to moderate skin laxity, early jowling, midface descent with heavy folds around the nose and mouth or those wanting a subtle, natural lift without surgery. It’s best for individuals with good skin quality and adequate facial volume who want to redefine facial contours with minimal downtime.
Those with severe skin laxity, very thin or fragile skin, active infections, uncontrolled medical conditions, or unrealistic expectations are not good candidates. It’s also not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, nursing, or prone to poor wound healing.
